    Abstract

This research examines the social and economic impacts of transnational crimes, with a specific focus on drug trafficking as a primary model within the field of social work. The study aims to identify the multidimensional risks associated with cross-border criminal activities and explore effective intervention strategies from a professional social work perspective. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical approach, the research relies on a comprehensive review of theoretical literature, previous studies, and international reports to analyze how drug trafficking undermines social stability and national economies. The findings indicate that transnational drug crimes significantly weaken social cohesion, lead to the erosion of family values, and increase rates of domestic instability and divorce. Economically, these crimes drain national resources, hinder sustainable development, and distort local markets through money laundering activities. Furthermore, the study highlights the critical role of social workers in prevention, early detection, and the rehabilitation of individuals affected by addiction. The research concludes by proposing a strategic framework for social work intervention that emphasizes community awareness, family support systems, and international cooperation to mitigate the threats posed by organized crime. It recommends the necessity of developing specialized social programs that integrate psychological and social support to protect the youth, who represent the most vulnerable group to these transnational threats.
