Conflict of Interest Policy

Al-imad Journal of Humanities and Applied Sciences (AJHAS) is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the publication process. All participants in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, and editors—are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Definition of Conflict of Interest: A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning a primary interest (such as a patient's welfare or the validity of research) may be influenced by a secondary interest (such as financial gain or personal relationships).

Author Responsibility: Authors are required to declare any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as a conflict of interest in the "Conflicts of Interest" section of their manuscript. Examples include:

    • Funding from an organization that could be affected by the research outcome.

    • Personal relationships with individuals or organizations involved in the research.

  • Reviewer Responsibility: Reviewers must decline an invitation to review a manuscript if they have any potential conflict of interest, such as:

    • A direct competitive relationship with the authors.

    • A collaboration with any of the authors in the last five years.

    • A financial interest in the subject matter.

  • Editor Responsibility: Editors must recuse themselves from the editorial process for any manuscript where they have a conflict of interest. A substitute editor will be assigned to handle the manuscript.

  • Confidentiality: All declared conflicts of interest are treated with strict confidentiality and are used to inform the editorial and peer-review processes to ensure fairness and objectivity.

  • Transparency: The journal is committed to transparency. Any potential conflicts of interest declared by authors will be published alongside the article.
