    Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree of commitment of secondary schools in the city of Zliten to Islamic social values from teachers’ perspectives. It also sought to explore the obstacles that hinder these schools from adhering to such values, as well as the proposed solutions that may enable them to uphold them. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher employed the descriptive survey method and the analytical deductive approach. A questionnaire was developed specifically for the purposes of this study and administered to teachers. The study tools were applied to a sample consisting of (751) male and female teachers.
The researcher adopted a comprehensive census approach in selecting the teacher sample. Additionally, two questions were included at the end of each questionnaire to identify the obstacles and proposed solutions from the participants’ perspectives.
The study revealed several key findings, including the following:
    -    The arithmetic mean of teachers’ responses regarding the degree of commitment of secondary school principals to Islamic social values was (3.56), indicating a moderate level of commitment.
    -    The arithmetic mean of teachers’ responses regarding the degree of students’ commitment in secondary schools to Islamic social values was (3.37), indicating a moderate level of commitment.
In light of the study findings, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggestions, the most significant of which included increasing attention to Islamic social values that had not received sufficient emphasis during curriculum development planning. The researcher also recommended conducting further studies to complement and reinforce the findings of the present study.
